The Supreme Court hearing that was to occur on the 16th March has been rescheduled for the 10th May. This change of date is due to availability of legal counsel. See also Madden Decision Taken to Supreme Court.
The Windsor Hotel redevelopment document accidently leaked by Minister Madden’s media advisor (25 Feb 2010) reveals a strategy to undermine an advisory committee report, and manipulate a community consultation process. As you can see in the full Madden Media Plan, it also contains the line ' March 16 and 17 Bastian (sic) Point decision in Supreme Court', with the following dot point -'Documents tabled on Feb 16 - will need cover as allegations against Minister's actions'. Save Bastion Point is a large number of organisations and individuals comprising the Save Bastion Point Campaign formed a coalition in 2004 to fight the East Gippsland Shire Council’s proposal for a large scale breakwater and boat ramp development at Bastion Point, Mallacoota. The coalition specifically works together to protect the many values of Bastion Point, to promote safe and sustainable use of the area and to oppose inappropriate development on the Bastion Point headland.
